IT WAS a very delightful day for B. Pathamajan, 11, as he finally met his hero and long-time idol Amri Yahyah.

“I’m so happy today that I met my hero. I have always admired him and today I shook his hand. I will never forget this day,” said Pathamajan.

MALAYSIAN football golden boy Amri Yahyah's two goals against Manchester United have earned him the adoration and recognition of fans, even non-football fans.

The latest, a group called "Amri Yahyah for Dato' Seri" was formed on Facebook, and six videos highlighting the newly-crowned Malaysia's football "saviour" have been uploaded on YouTube.

IT WAS certainly a pleasant surprise for Selangor skipper Amri Yahya. Right after aiding his side to beat Kuala Muda 4-1 at Shah Alam Stadium yesterday, Amri admitted he was unaware that his name was shortlisted for the Malaysian Selection match against Manchester United scheduled for July 18.

THE name Amri Yahya should not to be mistaken with that of the late Indonesian batik artist. Yet, just like the renowned professor, the Tanjung Karang lad plans to paint his own picture by showing off his art on the field.

Amri’s skills certainly made a difference as Selangor beat two-time treble champions Kedah 3-1 at Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday.

RIGHT after the customary pep-talk, Selangor skipper Amri Yahya walked out from the dressing room and headed towards his lovely wife, Nurul Izza Satim, who smiled at him. Nurul is, after all, Amri’s biggest fan.

She was filled with joy after Amri netted both of Selangor’s goals as the Klang Valley outfit beat Perlis 2-1 in the return leg of the FA Cup semifinal in Shah Alam on Saturday.
