PYBK lodge police report against Selangor MB

SHAH ALAM: Permodalan Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan Sdn Bhd (PYBK), a subsidiary of Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK), today lodged a police report against Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, for alleged abuse of power.

Mohamed Tamin Mohd Yusof, a director in PYBK, accompanied by YBK chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Sakom, lodged the report at the Shah Alam police headquarters today.

Zainal told reporters that the report was lodged following a decision by the Hulu Selangor District office to return quit rent paid by PYBK on August 2009, amounting to RM1.28 million via a cheque, on Feb 4.

The RM1.28 million quit rent was for 88.4 hectares owned by YBK in Serendah, the site where a proposed development for the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) campus was to take place, he said.

"One of the basic requirements when allocated a land for development is to pay the quit rent," he said, adding that the 88.4 hectares in question had no connection with the RM5.7 million owed by YBK and the RM5.43 million that Yayasan Melaka came forward to pay.

The Selangor state executive council had on Feb 3, directed the Hulu Selangor District office to return the payment made, to YBK.

"What is the reason by returning the quit rent paid? This shows an abuse of power," he said.

Zainal said the government does have the authority to return quit rent collected from the people because once the money is collected and banked into the government's account, the money becomes the property of the people while the government becomes a trustee.

"This is certainly not right. Meaning, the government can return the quit rent paid by the owner and say quit rent on the land was not paid," he said.

Furthermore, YBK also does not know why the money was kept by the government for so long before deciding to return it, he said.

Comments

In 2000 after his company Guthrie Property Development had rented out a building (kindergarten) without a CF and had disturbed/interferred in the process for the application for its operating licenses; TS Khalid decided to sue the kindergarten teachers claiming that they were sub-letting etc. So for him to disturb the stability of YBK which helps protect and educate orphans and the destitute is of no surprise because he has targetted women and children before.

But why does he do this ???? Does anybody know his rational???? The issue of slow payment for institutions who provide welfare assistance to the rakyat can surely be tolerated by the government. I think they should get a waiver for the charity work they do. The proposed development of UITM although it has some commercial value is of no concern to TS Khalid other than he should be encouraging the development of Selangor as the MB. I do know about his plans to develop a commercial corridor along the Klang river and that this it is a multi-billion dollar project.

Surely he can leave YBK to itself with so much work on his hands??? Or is it YBKs land that he's after for his corridor development? Does anyone know?? Why/What is going on? Why are our journalist not investigative enough?

Syarikat sendiri (Gutheri) tak mengikut peraturan undang-undang jangan nak hentam orang lain. Terutama orang tak patut di hentam adalah orang yang buat kerja kebajikan sperti tadika / taska/ rumah anak yatim/ rumah orang tua/ rumah orang miskin/ pusat latihan/ tempat sembahyang bangsa lain ... Mungkin lambat bayar sebab tak mampu??? Mereka kan buat kerja kebajikan bukan buat bisness.

Let me guess - the court case will be heard next week? Yet my court case from 1995 has still not been heard yet?
